Our Voice. Better Choice.

Mario Alvarado is a lifelong Santa Ana resident, father, small business owner, and served a decade as a trusted City Commissioner. He is a son of immigrant parents who are career union members.
Mario is a community leader who has a track record of standing up for working families in Santa Ana. He is running for City Council because we deserve more effective leadership in Ward 5.
Nearly 30 years ago, Mario began a career in public service working part-time for the Santa Ana Parks and Recreation Department. As a teenager he organized residents to initiate the community clean-up that led to the creation of Friendship Park. Since then he has consistently coached and volunteered with local organizations, giving back to the community that raised him.
When Mario was appointed to the Arts and Culture Commission, he helped create Santa Ana’s first Arts and Culture Master Plan nearly a decade ago that is still in use today. Mario currently serves as Chair of the Environmental and Transportation Advisory Commission.
